"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria wants to get back to her Latino roots and portray one of two Mexican cinema stars.

Longoria was in Mexico recently promoting a new ice-cream line and she told reporters that she wan keen on playing either Maria Felix or Dolores del Rio. They are both huge legends in South America, it was reported.

She said: "I would love to play a strong woman, especially in Latin culture. I did my own research to learn more about the writers, directors and great stars of Mexican cinema."

Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway

The Harry Potter star Daniel Redcliffe is exploring new roles as he will make his Broadway debut playing a disturbed stable boy in the revival of Peter Shaffer's play, Equus, in Fall 2008.
Equus opened at the National Theatre in 1973 and became a huge sensation. It reopened in 2007 with Radcliffe as the star.
Radcliffe commented on the prospect of bringing the London show to American audiences on Broadway."I would be very nervous because I think that (the audiences are) even more discerning than in London," Radcliffe said.
The play tells the story of a psychiatrist, played by Richard Griffiths, a Tony Award-winning actor, who tries to treat Alan Strang, (played by Radcliffe) a 17-year-old troubled stable boy who has a pathological sexual fascination with horses.

Opening night at the Broadhurst in New York City is scheduled for Sept. 25, and the production will play a 22-week engagement through Feb. 8, 2009. During the the first show, security will be given the highest priority, as no cameras cellphones will be allowed inside the theatre. It seems that some girl fans are just waiting for an opportunity to click pictures of nude daniel for their collection!

Harry Potter' star Emma Watson is to replace Scarlett Johansson as the lead in the upcoming period drama 'Napoleon and Betsy'.

Watson, Hermione in the Potter films, will play Betsy Balcombe, a young noblewoman trapped on the island of Saint Helena who falls in love with Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile there.
Johansson left the cast recently due to concerns about her plausibility in a role demanding youth and immaturity but still she is one of the film's producers, and shooting is set to begin in the autumn.

Rupert Grint says Lindsay Lohan can't act

Rupert Grint has claimed it is best to avoid female stars like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

The Harry Potter actor revealed that he met Lohan last year in America and that she bored him by talking about herself all the time.

Grint added that he didn't want to meet Hilton because she was the sort of girl you should "stay away from".

He told The Sun: "I met Lindsay last summer and she talked about herself a lot.

"She said she was going to win an Oscar before she turns 25. I just kept thinking, 'But you can’t act'.

The singer beat out music and second place holder Elvis Presley's record when "Touch My Body" hit the top spot this week. Carey now has had 18 #1 hits, according to Reuters. That's an average of a chart-topper every year since she began her recording career in 1990. With the upcoming retail release of her latest album E=MC², chances are good for Carey to overtake the top record holder, The Beatles, who have had 20 #1 songs.
"Touch My Body's" placement at #1 on the chart was bolstered by a record-setting digital debut week. The single sold 286,000 downloads, beating the debut of last summer's smash hit "Umbrella" by Rihanna, which sold 277,000 downloads in its debut week.

Avril Lavigne proved she's not the smartest entertainer. I guess we shouldn't have expected her to be since she dropped out of school at age 16. Ninemsn reports:
Fans at Avril Lavigne's Canadian homecoming were left stunned after the singer displayed an embarrassing lack of geographical knowledge. Lavigne, 23, shocked concertgoers at her Montreal show by incorrectly stating what province she was in. "I love you Montreal, I'm so happy to be back home...in Ontario, Canada," Lavigne said to the crowd. Montreal is actually a city in Quebec."


That's actually pathetic that she doesn't know that Montreal isn't in Ontario given that she was born in Belleville, Ontario, just a few hours drive away from Montreal, Quebec.
Avril should take some time and go back to school because she's an embarrassment to Canadians.

It’s Zac Efron - who wouldn’t?” Tisdale adds that beau Jared Murillo, 19 - who had a bit part in the sequel (they began dating in February 2007) - won’t be back this time.
