Eva Longoria wants to get back to her latino roots

"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria wants to get back to her Latino roots and portray one of two Mexican cinema stars.

Longoria was in Mexico recently promoting a new ice-cream line and she told reporters that she wan keen on playing either Maria Felix or Dolores del Rio. They are both huge legends in South America, it was reported.

She said: "I would love to play a strong woman, especially in Latin culture. I did my own research to learn more about the writers, directors and great stars of Mexican cinema."
